CASE STUDY #4 - EQUIPMENT SAMPLING TEMPLATES FOR CLEANING VALIDATION

Project objective: Development of equipment sampling templates for cleaning validation.

Project description: Chicago Controls was requested to develop equipment sampling templates for use in cleaning validation. This work included the determination of appropriate locations for sampling and the justification for identified locations.

Chicago Controls project activities: Chicago Controls evaluated the project status. Suggestions to improve the equipment sampling templates were made to management.

A template was created that systematized and facilitated activities. A procedure that systemitized development of future equipment sampling templates was developed. The template was consistent with regulatory and industry standards for cleaning validation.

Results: The equipment sampling templates for cleaning validation were completed ahead of schedule.

Customer benefit: There were two significant customer benefits in this project:

1. Equipment sampling templates. The equipment sampling templates accomplished the project objective.

2. Additional activities. Documentation developed in support of templates far exceeded customer expectations. A new procedure for development of future templates will enable the customer to prepare future templates for new equipment.

Summary: The contributions of Chicago Controls enabled successful project completion ahead of schedule, within budget, and exceeding customer expectations.
